How much money do you think a woman CEO from a Fortune 500 company makes? Think of the highest amount possible and then top it up even further. The mind boggles.
While most working women across the world continue to face a gender wage gap, there is one group of female executives, which seems to be doing rather well in the pay department – the high ranking executives of Fortune’s 2015 Most Powerful Women list.
Topping this Fortune’s list of 33 most powerful women is Apple’s retail boss Angela Ahrendts, who makes a whopping US$73 million annually. It gives you an idea of how much these women earn because the last person on this list, the 33rd woman executive, Shari Ballard of Best Buy also earns a cool US$3.05 million annually.
In fact, says a Fortune report, between these 33 women, they take home combined earnings of nearly US$522 million dollars, with the top ten women alone making about US$300 million.
Indian high flier, Indra Nooyi, who heads PepsiCo, ranks seventh on this list, with an inspiring salary of US$19.08 million.
Impressive is clearly an understatement.
