The year 2014 was full of politics making headlines. Be it because of the general elections or the social media campaigns by Modi or even the foolish comments made oh-so-many politicians, politics was the talk of the town. Along with making the news, politics also taught us a whole bunch of new words (which you shouldn’t include in your vocabulary).

Bahu Lao Beti Bachao: Bajrang Dal came up with this tagline which forbids Hindu girls to marry outside their religion and encourages the boys to marry non-Hindu girls so that they can convert to Hinduism.

Love Jihaad: The credit again goes to Bajraj Dal. As per their netas Muslim boys were trying to lure Hindu girls by faking their feelings and marrying them so that they change their religion. Love Jihaad was the name given to this ‘revolution’.

Ghar Wapsi: According to certain RSS groups, India is a country of Hindus and other religions aren’t a part of Hindustan. The Ghar Wapasi term was coined to get people to convert to Hinduism. Earlier this month 57 Muslim families changed their religion and the RSS announced that they were ‘back’ home.

AAPtards: AAP got a lot of social media publicity because of this hashtag. AAPtards are the ones who go to any extend to support Kejriwal. With the rise of Modi followers, AAPtards are now the butt of all jokes

Mufflerman:
The term was a nickname for Kejriwal who always sported his trademark muffler. However now the hashtag #Mufflerman is nothing but a big joke.

Modi Bhakts: Modi Sarkar is on the rise and people who love this BJP poster boy call themselves Modi Bhakts as a way to show their love and devotion. The term is often also used by the non-bhakts to mock Modi supporters.

Chaiwala: The famous Chaiwala a.k.a. our Indian Prime Minister has used his humble tea selling background to the best advantage. When Congress’ Mani Shankar Aiyar called him a Chaiwala, he used it positively organizing several meetings with tea sellers to highlight his humble beginnings.

Pappu: Pappu is a word used for people who are stupid. After Rahul Gandhi made a fool of himself on the interview with Arnab Goswami, he was nicknamed Pappu.
