If an Indian woman could ask one question about her safety, she would ask, ‘When will India be a safe country for women?’ Looking at incidents of violence against women every day, this seems like a legit question, don’t you think? But who can give us the answer? Is there really a solution to this question? We wonder!
While we consider the situation, comedian Vir Das may have found an answer. In his new #POTCAST video, Vir Das has an opinion to share. (#POTCAST is series of videos where Vir Das speaks about the hottest topics in the country.)
One of India’s most burning issues is that of women’s safety. Providing an answer to the question, Vir Das has asked men to step up and try to understand the situation women are facing. He asks them to ‘BE’ with them and not judge them because of their gender. All we can say is that this man does make sense and we appreciate the positive social message. We just wish other men would follow suit.
