Years ago when trekking wasn’t a trend, Nalini Sengupta pursued it as a hobby. She continued to do so for several years and managed to achieve expertise in trekking and adventure sports.
And now after years of dedicated efforts, the principal of Vidya Valley School in Pune has a mountain named after her. She achieved this honour after she, along with a team of 40 others from the Giripremi mountaineering club, conquered a new summit in the Himalayan range.
An avid trekker and adventure training coach Nalini has been practicing since 1970. Her contribution to the field is tremendous and that’s why the Pune resident will now be remembered forever as peak 5260 will now be called Mount Nalini.
