Plus size women, who have overcome their self-consciousness and awkwardness to post happy, curvy pictures of themselves are in for a rude shock. A Facebook page, called Project Harpoons, is taking their images and photoshopping them into skinny, yet oddly distorted versions of these women, to show how much ‘better’ they would look if they were thin. This is fat shaming of the worst kind.

Thinner Beauty is a Photoshop craze, where people slim down women’s photographs – without their consent – to make them thinner.

As well as simply being horrible little trolls, the people who take part in this ‘game’ – which has also been referred to as ‘digital liposuction’ as well as ‘Project Harpoon’ – believe they’re fighting back against ‘fat acceptance’ and ‘feminists’.

Any further proof of how sick the entire exercise is can be gleaned by just scanning through the page. The number of comments that thoroughly exhaust all talking points for every part of the woman’s body, who is on display, will revolt any reader.

The worst part about it all is that the way the pictures are reduced is so unrealistic and impossible for a particular woman to actually tone down, to due to her bone structure. Since these pictures have been taken without permission, apparently, if any of these women ever come across these distorted versions of themselves and unsavoury comments below the image, they are likely to be very hurt.

And the creators actually claim that they ‘help misguided women’! Talked about twisted mindset!

Boyfriend’s arms go further around’ is the sick caption to this picture on Project Harpoon’s page.

Plus size model Ashley Graham was evidently not good enough for this warped creator.
