Surender Kumar is one proud father. Surender who sells tea and owns a tea shop right across a court in Nakodar, Jalandhar district cannot be happier right now. He was serving tea to various people in and around the complex of the sub-divisional magistrate.
Surrender’s 23-year-old daughter Shruti has passed the Punjab Civil Services (Judicial) Examination in the first attempt and after a year’s training will now be able to pronounce judgements in the same court where her father serves tea.
Shruti who will now be a judge at the Nakodar court said to a leading daily in an interview, “I always wanted to be associated with the legal profession. I wanted to be a judge. I sat for the examination and stood first in the SC category.”
She graduated from Guru Nanak Dev University and went on to study law at the Punjab University, Patiala nurturing a dream of becoming a judge.
Shruti was also applauded for her success, by the Rajya Sabha MP and vice-president Avinash Rai Khanna who called her achievements ‘an honour for Punjab’.
We are really proud of this young woman who has managed to conquer all odds and make not only her father but also her state and nation proud. More power to you girl.
