All around the world Indian sportsmen and women are making history and receiving accolades for their achievements. Be it Sania Mirza or Saina Nehwal, Indian women are making the country so proud.

Adding to the cap already full of feathers, we have 17-year-old golfer Aditi Ashok, who has become the first-ever Indian to win the British Amateur in Leeds England. Not just that, she is also the youngest-ever winner of the championship. We applaud you girl!

This Class 12 student from Bengaluru went into the final round with a four-stroke lead and carded five birdies, four bogeys in halves of 37-34 and made one eagle on 16th.

She is currently ranked 52nd in the World Amateur Golf rankings and is the leader of the Indian Golf Ladies order of merit. The golfer started playing when she was only five years old. She broke several records earlier this year, when she became one of the youngest women amateur players to win the 54-hole St Rule Trophy, at St Andrews Links in Scotland.

More power to her!
