The way you keep your desk can say a lot about your personality and work style.

You may consider your work desk just a piece of wood to work on, but on an average we spend at least eight hours at our desks. You work, eat, drink and even sometimes sleep (iDiva team, kidding… not) on your desk every single day which makes it an important part of you. The way you keep your desk can say a lot about your personality and work style. How about you take the quiz to find your working traits!

Do you easily find important papers and documents when they are needed?
a. Sure. I know exactly where everything is kept.
b. I find them easily most times.
c. I can never find anything on my desk.
d. For some reason my stuff is always on my co-worker’s desk.

What other items do you have on your desk other than work related stuff?
a. I don’t have anything other than items I need for work.
b. I keep my personal diary, a few photographs and motivational posters on my desk.
c. My desk is full of things I am absolutely clueless about.
d. Let’s see… I have a plant, a book, my lunch box, my phone, my make up kit and a stuffed toy.

Do you have post-it notes pinned to your desk?

a. I have a to-do list on my computer.
b. I have a few notes stuck on my soft board.
c. I have post-it notes stuck all over my desk. How else will I keep track of things?
d. I don’t need post-its. I keep all the to-do stuff in my head.

What do you do with useless things such as used pens, used notepads and old papers?
a. I throw them out, of course.
b. I try to clear my desk of such things at the end of the day.
c. It just gets mixed with other things on my desk and I am unable to segregate.
d. It’s kept on my desk until the office peon clears it.

How do you avoid coffee and tea mug stains on your stain?

a. I use a coaster.
b. I have some really nice arty coasters which I use.
c. I just tear a piece of old paper and use it as a coaster.
d. Who cares about stains?

Most As: Clearly, you take your job very seriously! There’s nothing that can come between you and your work. You are an organised woman who keeps her documents and important papers filed properly. You know exactly where all your stuff is kept and hardly anything is out of its place. It’s great to be so efficient and devoted, but a little personalisation won’t hurt. Just saying.

Most Bs: Your desk is well organised and has your personal touch. You have struck a good balance between your work and personal preferences. Your desk is unique and reflects your personality. It may have not occurred to you yet, but those photographs and posters help you get through a bad day and keep you cheery.

Most Cs: You try your best to do your job well but the untidiness on your desk makes you less efficient. You want to keep track of things but don’t really care about the appearance of your desk. We recommend you take out time to sort your desk and it will automatically reflect on your work.

Most Ds: Either you have no interest in your work or have no work at all (lucky you!). While it may be clean and tidy, it is filled with only your personal items. Your desk gives an impression that you don’t do much work but only live in your own world. Tip: Clear your personal stuff to make place for work-related items.
