Kareena Kapoor will be shocked to know that she is the next victim of Love Jihad. The saffron brigade has gone to great lengths to promote their campaign and Kareena Kapoor Khan according to them is the best example. Bah!
Kareena Kapoor is one of India’s leading actresses and her pretty face has graced every magazine in India. The fashionista has always kept the gossip mills churning with her cat fights and her love interests. But little did the actress know that her life choices will make her a ‘victim’ of Love Jihad. She is gracing the cover of yet another magazine, the Durga Vahini (a wing of RSS) ‘s magazine which shows the actress as a victim.
The people who designed the cover must have googled the poster of Khoon Bhari Maang and put Kareena on the cover. Her middle parting has her wearing sindoor and a red bindi, the sign of a married Hindu woman and then half of her face is covered with what appears to be a burqa. The Hindu part of Kareena is smiling while the Muslim part doesn’t show her lips and her eyes look wiped clean of make up.
If Kareena isn’t appalled by this badly designed poster of hers, then it is very likely that she and Saif are having a good private laugh about it or chalking it with some of the more bizarre publicity they have received in the past.
In an interview with a leading daily, Rajni Thukral, the coordinator of the North India section of the magazine went ahead and said that love jihad is a very serious issue in the north and needs to be curbed. She also added that Kareena’s image was used for the cover because the youth try to emulate celebrities and they think, if she can do it, then who not us. Well so basically portraying Kareena as a love Jihad victim will discourage the Hindu girls to fall in love with the Muslim guys because then they will suffer too just as Kareena is. I wonder to what extents will the Saffron brigade go to promote this ridiculous campaign.
Ever noticed Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor in public? The couple is always holding hands, looks so loved up all the time and the smitten glances Saif Ali Khan shoots Kareena once in a while are enough to melt your heart. Do you think Kareena is a victim of Love Jihad? That Saif just pretended to fall in love with her so that she would convert? And come to think of it, Kareena has not even changed her religion. She has just added the name Khan to her surname. Do you still think she is the victim of love jihad.
Why don’t you then consider Dharmendra who changed his religion to marry Hema Malini should be called a victim of Love Jihad too. The actor who was born Hindu converted to Islam so that he can have two wives. The actor who still uses his Hindu name is technically Muslim. You could use his poster to discourage men from marrying more than once! There’s an idea!
Love knows no religion, no boundaries, no cast, creed and even gender. Then why are certain people going around proclaiming that people are being victimised on the name of love? It just infuriates me, because love is has no religion.
