First the Indian women’s hockey team and now two marathoners – O.P. Jaisha and Sudha Singh. They are racing ahead to put India on the global map. Jaisha Orchatteri Puthiya Veetil, called as O.P. Jaisha, is an Indian track and field athlete from Kerala, who recently ran in World Athletics Championships, at the Beijing National Stadium. The athlete gave an incredible performance and broke the national record, which stands for the past 19 years held by Vally Satyabhama.

O.P. Jaisha came 18th at the championships. Sudha Singh ranked 19th. Both the women have been qualified for the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Yay!

We are totally cheering for these women, who have made the country proud.
