Colours have a visual as well as a psychological effect on human beings. Therefore, choosing the right colour for your house is extremely crucial. It is also important to remember that whatever colour you choose, it must reflect your personality. After all when those guests come over, the first thing that will make them feel happy and welcome, is the colour of the rooms. To help you get started, let’s understand the visual effect of certain colours better.

Visual effects of black and white:

Black:
While choosing your outfits, you will realise that you look slimmer in black. Therefore, almost all of us love the colour for this magical effect. But when it comes to decor, the effect can be quite the opposite. This is simply because black makes any place look lesser in volume than it is.

Dark or high intensity colours such as dark browns, greys, blues, greens and violets act in a similar way.

White:
White on the other hand makes us look broader. Therefore, it’s an asset that white walls can make a room feel much larger than it really is. Whites being a calm and clear colour make a place look clutter-free too. The cleanliness in this colour makes the place feel large.

White, beige, neutrals, creams (all in light shades) have a similar effect.
