One thing I’ve always loved to recycle into home decor is empty used bottles. I hate throwing them away! I find them beautiful and useful for creating enviable home décor. Here’s one way to convert them into pretty planters using macramé. Check out the step-by-step procedure below.

Things you need:

1. Clean bottle
2. Rope. You can use jute or cotton rope.
3. Scissors
4. Glue

Method:

1. Cut a piece of rope according to the diameter of the neck of the bottle. Stick this with superglue to form a ring. Once dry, place it on the bottle’s neck.
2. Cut 10 bits of rope. Length of each piece should be 5 times the length of the bottle. Cut the extra length later.

3. Tie each rope to the rope ring as shown in the picture below.

4. Start knotting the adjacent twines of the rope to form a barfi pattern as shown in the picture below.

5. Repeat this method till the end of the bottle. Now tie all the remaining ropes at the bottom of the bottle as shown in the picture below.

6. Now to create a hanging bottle, you will need to add an additional rope. Tie it tightly at the neck of the bottle as shown in the picture.

7. Tada! Now you are all set to use these as hanging planters or flower vases.
