The pen is mightier than the sword. We’ve believed this quote all our lives, but it was Malala Yousafzai who defined it in real life. That one Pakistani school girl who stood up to the Taliban and defended her right to an education, Malala poured her heart out in an article on how Talibanis curbed the life of the villagers in the Swat valley, especially preventing girl children from being educated. In return for that, Malala was shot with three bullets in her head by a Talibani militant.

With lots of prayers for this teenage girl who was 15 back then, she survived. Even after recovering from this near-death encounter, she did not stop working towards promoting education for the girl child. In no time the world rushed to Malala’s side and she was seen as the messiah of girl child education around the world. Her speeches moved audiences across the globe and she was seen as a knight in shining armour for all girls who needed motivation to fight for their own education.

The inspiring story of Malala Yousafzai has now been made into a documentary film titled He Named Me Malala. Here’s a sneak peek of the movie. P.S. Watch out; this trailer is sure to give your goose bumps.
