Astha Khetan, a marketing graduate with a flamboyant work-life at a London-based digital media agency, moved back to work at Unilever, managing the company’s special projects. But this Udaipur-based beauty was focused on combining her professional background with her personal love for craft and her penchant for travel by making good use of her access to the artistic treasures of this Indian city; thus was born House of Things.

Her aim was to create a space for interaction between design talent and discerning lifestyle customers. A qualitatively curated gallery with a worldwide viewership, as she likes to put it.

Here’s taking a peek into a day of Astha’s eventful and artistic life.

An early riser, Astha likes to start her day by 7 AM. She wakes up and gets straight into her workout regimen keeping her focus on weight training and cardio for now.

Her little one is her priority and she makes it a point to spend some quality time with him before she’s off to work. So from 8 AM to 10 AM she’s busy with her baby boy Iraj making sure he’s ready for school on time.

Once Iraj is off to school, she’s got some time for herself, which helps her plan her day ahead.

As a family oriented person, Astha spends a lot of time with her loved ones. Her immediate family consists of husband Sourabh, son Iraj, brother-in-law and co-founder of House of Things, Manan and her in-laws. She likes to indulge in a home-cooked early lunch by 11.30 AM before she heads out for work.

Work! That’s her mantra from noon to 5:30 PM. Astha manages the House of Things website, oversees company operations, attends shoots and interviews, and deals with client meetings as well.

Being a woman who wants to give back to the community, Astha also oversees the operations at a school that she founded called Crossroads Pre School and Enrichment Centre. It brings her enormous joy to see the happiness in the parents and the children.

Astha rightly believes that all work and no play is bad for the body and mind. So later in the evening Iraj spends some needed time with his grandparents, while Astha takes the time to catch up with her friends.

Astha, Saurabh, and Iraj also spend some quality family time together catching up on the day’s events in the evening.

On regular days, 9:30 PM is time to retire when Astha tucks Iraj into bed and depending on how she feels she takes time out for either a quiet outing with friends or a movie in bed.
