Chef Shipra Khanna who became a household name with her stint in Masterchef India 2 has been on a roll with a number of interesting assignments. She’s now the culinary patron for a tourism company and is also part of a unique television show on Food and Travel called MasterChef Travels, which will focus on experiences of various foodies. Apart from this, the hot chef also launched her own restaurant in her favourite town, Ahmedabad called House of Taste. Apart from spending hours every day around food, be it cooking, researching or styling, Shipra is also a travel enthusiast and an ambitious person who aims to open up restaurants that’ll cater to foodies all around the world. Let’s take a peek into her busy life that revolves around all things food.
Shipra who hails from the city of the Taj, Agra, began to learn her skills at the age of nine when she’d watch her mom cook up the yummiest meals. She aimed to be just as good. A mother of two, Shipra suffered an abusive marriage and left her husband before she won the MasterChef India Two title in 2012.
Shipra’s mornings are incomplete without that mug full of coffee that keeps her awake and energetic.
For the culinary expert the importance of a healthy and hearty breakfast is immense, so Shipra makes it a point to eat a wholesome meal before she sets out. Her schedules are hecticwith interviews that have been lined up and her television shows that she shoots for four out of seven days a week. That’s why keeping herself satiated is pretty important.
With the multiple roles she juggles these days, she is expected to be present at a number of places and she kind of loves all the attention she gets. This one’s from a radio show that she hosted to talk about her latest ventures in the food world. And she looks elated to be the RJ for the day.
Shipra currently has two television shows on air namely Pure Sin and K for Kids on the channel Food Food. So most of her time goes prepping to look picture perfect in front of the camera. Ask her if she likes it, and the pretty looking chef gushes with joy describing how much she loves this life.
While cooking is her passion, Shipra never forgets to keep herself hydrated while she is immersed in work. Shipra describes cooking as a therapeutic process that also helps her destress. In fact it also helped her get over her abusive marriage of 10 years that she is now out of.
The 30-year-old chef who’s also launched her book called Spice Route says she is most happy in the kitchen and it surely shows in the tantilising delicacies she prepares.
A little fun hurt nobody and that’s exactly what Shipra believes in. So while she’s busy being the chef-in-charge, she doesn’t forget to take a selfie.
You cannot expect anything less than scrumptious in the tiffin box of a chef. So here’s what Shipra’s healthy lunch looks like. A salad full of greens is always on the menu. She believes it keeps her healthy and light.
While Shipra’s an acclaimed chef she’s always accompanied by a team of chefs that help her achieve excellence, so here’s one with the team.
A hectic day at work ends with some spice shopping at the local market and the chef is hunting for the best flavours for her dishes.
Back home, Shipra doesn’t snooze until she catches up on some reading and takes inspiration from various cuisines and ingredients to come up with her own innovative recipes.
Since she is the culinary expert for a tourism company, travel is also on her itinerary. Here’s Shipra taking a late night flight dressed in an all-black ensemble that makes her stand out.
And that’s the end of a hectic day in Shipra’s life.
