It’s like the plot of a thriller novel unfolding. Sheena Bora, relative to former Star TV CEO Peter Mukherjea, who has been missing since 2012 and presumed to be living in the US, may have actually been murdered and buried in the forests of Raigad. Police have uncovered a body and investigations have led to the arrest of ‘her sister’ and Peter’s wife, Indrani Bora Mukherjea. But here’s where the plot thickens and becomes utterly confusing. Check out these 11 mind-boggling facts surrounding this murder.
1. Sheena was earlier believed by everybody to be Indrani Mukherjea’s sister. Even Indrani’s husband Peter Mukherjea has been assuming that for 15 years. But after Indrani’s arrest, it was discovered that Sheena is actually her daughter.
2. Mikhail Bora believed to be Indrani’s brother until now is now apparently her son, from a previous marriage. Peter Mukherjea says that he was unaware that his wife was married previously to somebody else.
3. Incidentally, Mumbai Police detained Sanjeev Khanna, Indrani’s first husband on Wednesday. He allegedly helped Indrani in killing Sheena.
4. Here’s what Mikhail told CNN-IBN: “Have no doubt my mother, Indrani killed my sister, Sheena Bora. If Indrani Mukerjea doesn’t admit to her crime, I will tell cops the exact reason for the murder”. Mikhail Bora also claimed that the property dispute was not the real reason for his sister’s murder.
5. Mukerjea said the entire episode has come as a shock to him. But he also said that he was aware of the rumours that Sheena could be his wife’s daughter, but he chose not to believe them.

6. The case came to light when a man named Shyam Rai was picked up in a case involving an unidentified pistol. The man revealed that he was a driver for Indrani and had helped her murder and dump the burnt body in a forest.
7. The police found partial skeletal remains in the spot that Rai has indicated, which have been sent to the lab for examination. They are yet to positively confirm the skeleton to be that of Sheena’s.
8. A missing person’s complaint was filed in May 2012 at the Khar police station after Sheena, who then lived at Union Park Colony, went missing, reports the Indian Express.
9. But here’s what Peter Mukherjea told The Times of India. “We have had no contact with Sheena since February 2012. I asked Indrani and she said Sheena is in the US and showed me pictures of Sheena at a Diwali function there,” he said.
10. Sheena had a relationship with Rahul Mukherjea, Peter’s son from an earlier marriage. While Peter, assuming her to be his wife’s sister had no issues with the relationship, his wife allegedly disapproved of it.
11. Here’s what complicates the case further. According to Tehelka, the Mukerjeas had siphoned a lot of money from INX media, a company they later stepped down from. To avoid suspicion, a lot of this money had been transferred to their relatives’ accounts.
