Popular biker brands are stepping up to hold events for women bikers. Here are ten reasons why more Indian women should ride motorcycles.

Managing a motorcycle will definitely instill a sense of confidence, adventurism, daring and individualism. You’ll feel great about yourself.

As a female motorcyclist, you’ll inspire more women to follow suit.

It’s the perfect excuse to include leather and boots into your fashion. There is something really sexy about a woman in a leather jacket, denims, boots, gloves and a pair of sunglasses. You’ll turn heads, for sure.

It’s a great way to avoid the sexual harassment that comes with using public transport: leering, groping, inappropriate gestures, you’ve seen it all.

It also saves you the trouble of haggling with cab and auto drivers while you are in a rush to get to work.

Motorcycling is a good way to get some low-impact exercise. Being in control of the mean machine requires constant use of many different muscles.

Road trips on a bike are always better than in a car. The adrenaline rush that comes with feeling the wind in your face as you feel one with your machine is quite something. It can be romantic too, if you take your partner along.

For a lot of women, motorcycles are cheaper than cars, be it the outright costs of the vehicle or the fuel it consumes or the effort of maintenance.

You’ll get a whole new set of friends, courtesy your biker clubs. And this includes progressive-thinking men who will respect you for what you are and not try to fit you into a gender stereotype.
