If you have grown up in a hostel, PG or shared a room with a friend in a rented apartment, you are most likely to be familiar with the ordeal of living with an unorganized roommate. It can be really annoying especially if the person leaves the dishes in the sink for days, eats in bed, leaves their dirty laundry on the sofa, and does everything to turn the house into a stinky rat hole. It’s only normal to lose your calm.
Interestingly, netizens have found the perfect roomie. A video of a woman cleaning up her roommate’s bedroom and bathroom with much care and conviction is winning hearts all over. Sam Smithburger, a TikTok user uploaded a video of her cleaning up the entire house for her roommate. The caption read, “2020 is the year we check on our homies.”
In the video you can see an extremely cluttered room with heaps of clothes and cosmetics lying on the bed, and garbage littered all over the floor. The kind and generous roommate explains why the room is so messed up. She wrote, “My roommate has been very overwhelmed lately (6 classes, 2 jobs, an internship, and just totaled her car. So today I decided to clean her entire room so she can get some sleep (and we can get drunk). Tricked my friend Sean into helping me.”
In no time, comments like, “Why don’t I have someone like this in my life” and “This is what true friendship looks like” started pouring in.
Sam also felt sorry and shared another video apologizing to her roommate for showing the room to the entire world. She decided to surprise her again by baking a cake and recorded her priceless reaction. Check it out.
