After nearly nine years of marriage, TV actors Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Shaikh have now got divorced. The couple had been living separately for some time before their divorce. As per a report in India Today, the custody of their daughter Ayra Ali has been given to Sanjeeda.

Aamir and Sanjeeda started off by being friends before dating each other. The couple had been in a relationship for almost six to seven years before tying the knot in 2012. However, in 2019, their relationship hit rock bottom. Around the same time, the couple had a daughter through surrogacy.
As we reported earlier in 2020, a source close to the couple had said, “Differences started cropping up between them some time ago, but they were trying their best to not let it hamper their relationship. Matters escalated a few days after Sanjeeda returned from a shoot in London in October last year, and she left for her parental home. Though they continued to be in touch for some time after that, they stopped talking to each other over a month ago. Since the differences are a result of minor issues, we are hoping that they will reconcile.”

The source also said, “Yes, it’s true. They have a three-four-months-old daughter. It’s a surrogate baby. Sanjeeda has moved out with the baby to her mother’s place. Aamir continues to reside in the Lokhandwala flat where they had stayed all along after marriage.”

As per a report in India Today, a source close to the couple said that they have moved on in their lives and are not likely to announce their divorce. “It has been around nine months since the divorce papers came through. They have moved on in their respective lives. Both of them are extremely private, and thus didn’t wish to give out any official statement about the divorce,” the source said.
