Bodily functions are natural, but putting them into words help us understand things better. Now imagine if sex education wasn’t taboo and was explained to you the way pooping was.
Teacher: So let’s talk about how we poop and pee
*no giggles*
Teacher: This is an important part of life. Your body excretes the waste it does not absorb in the form of feces and you cannot keep it in your body because it becomes toxic. You have to flush this waste out for a healthy gut and life. Getting me?
Students: Yes, teacher!
Teacher: To flush out the toxins you have to drink plenty of water, eat wholesome food, sit on the pot twice every day and flush out the poop from your body.
Now, imagine hearing about sex so openly in your school. However, the only sex education I got was how to put on a pad when I will finally got my periods. Which I ended up doing the wrong way, anyway.
So here is an A to Z guide to sex education we wish we got from our schools, mentors and parents, instead of gyaan on abstinence.
Let’s take it one letter at a time…
The Letter A
What does the letter A entail in terms of intimacy and sex? Well…
A is for Attraction
The best way to start would be to understand the emotion arising from within you when you are drawn to someone. Attraction is a powerful need to kiss them like how your favourite movie character kissed their significant other on screen, or romanced them under the stars. You feel it throughout your body and imagine it more during the night. It might make you look up ‘how to French kiss’ on YouTube or just practice it on the mirror or the back of your hand. Attraction is normal, it is healthy, and it is fun. It is definitely not restricted to just one person and every time you feel attracted to someone you unlock a whole new level of imaginary sexual contact until you finally find an outlet.
A is also for Anilingus
You don’t have to feel weird or hide it if you are attracted to the anus in a sexual way. Anal eroticism is one of the most common forms of sexual intercourse for bisexual men. What does anilingus mean? Anilingus is the oral sex act in which a person stimulates the anus of another by using the mouth, making use of lips, tongue, or teeth. If there is a word for your kink then this is 100% legitimate. Colloquially, it is also known as rimming. Heterosexual couples (attracted to the opposite sex) also indulge in anal stimulation, so this is not restricted to just gay or homosexual couples.
A is for Anal Sex
Thankfully the hullabaloo surrounding the illegality of anal sex has been put to rest with the decriminalisation of Article 377 in India. Yes readers for your knowledge, up until last year a sodomy law was very much in force. That however did not stop people from indulging in anal sex. You might have heard of it in passing with “oh it might hurt a lot” or “oh no, that’s where the poop comes from”. But anal sex is as normal as vaginal sex. If you use proper lubrication and indulge in enough foreplay you are sure to enjoy it. Hetrosexual couples try it too! The latest in anal sex is that women wear strap-on dildos for their male partners. We don’t judge and you shouldn’t too.
