Is a love marriage better or an arranged marriage? Which one is more successful? The debate around this is unceasing. And the latest to voice an opinion on marriages is none other than actress Taapsee Pannu who doesn’t believe in the concept of an arranged marriage.

In a recent interview, the actress was candid enough to call it “a big gamble” and something she isn’t up for. On being asked about her views in particular about arranged marriages, she told Bollywood Bubble, “Marriage itself is a gamble today and I feel arranged marriage is just a little bigger gamble. It’s like people who like adventures in life, they like to go for arranged marriage because it’s like you never know what’s going to come your way. So, people who love adventure should go for an arranged marriage. I love adventure sports, I am not into life adventures, So, I will play a little safe by going into the love marriage route instead of arranged marriage. But I think great people who have succeeded in good arranged marriages, have a big adventure streak in them and their gambling has worked.”

It’s no secret that Taapsee is in a relationship with badminton player and coach Mathias Boe. Confirming the same last year, the actress stated that she will get married only when she wants to have babies. Earlier, talking about her marriage plans, she told E Times, “Once I do, I’ll probably think of slowing down, doing two-three films a year instead of five-six. Only then will I have time to dedicate to my personal life.”

She continued, “I will get married only when I want to have babies. I don’t want to have kids out of wedlock. I don’t want an elaborate wedding either. It will be one long day with close friends and family. This multiple day thing is too tiring. It will be like a compact one-day thing.”

At the end of the day, marriage should be a personal choice. What should matter is the person, and the love and mutual respect between the couple. That said, do you agree with Taapsee’s views? Do you think an arranged marriage is a gamble? Are you in one? Tell us your stories, experience and views in the comments.
