Recently, actor Rohit Roy took to Instagram and shared a collage of stills from a commercial ad he’d done with the Bengali beauty from the early phase of their careers. The ad was shot right after Sushmita was crowned Miss Universe in 1994.
It was a soap advertisement for the brand Camay and their chemistry has left everyone wondering if they were actually dating in real life. Soon after the commercial was released, Rohit reveals, people started asking him if he was the actress’s boyfriend in real life too.

Recounting his fond memories, Rohit wrote, “My first ever commercial with my darling Sush ‘the amazing sen’, freshly back from the crowning ! What times and what a commercial for #camay soaps! The often asked question in pre-release viewer reactions was… Is he her real boyfriend!!! Actor toh tab bhi solid tha boss!” In case you have missed out on the advertisement, check it out.
Even though they were not dating, what we can’t overlook is the crackling chemistry between the duo. The post is flooded with comments like, “You resemble the young Chandler Bing!”, “She is an epitome of grace. Love Sushmita”, “You looked like Zaheer Khan”, and so on. We wonder if the former Miss Universe has seen the post yet and, when she does, what her reaction is going to be.
However, Rohit has definitely come a long way from this ad and is best known for his roles in films like Shootout At Lokhandwala, Mumbai Saga, Dus Kahaniyaan and Kaabil. Sushmita, on the other hand, recently made a comeback with the much-awaited web series Aarya, which got her fans excited like never before. The actress is currently busy shooting the second season of the web series that left her fans wanting for more.
