Rumours of comedian Bharti Singh and husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa having a baby started circulating from the day they got married. Time and again, the comedian has been questioned about motherhood and she’s denied being pregnant.

However, a recent report published in the Hindustan Times confirms that the couple are expecting their first child in 2022. A source close to the couple said, “It is at a very initial stage. Singh is already on rest and has halted her work commitments for now. She is not stepping out much and staying low profile.”

When Singh was approached for a confirmation, she neither denied it nor confirmed the news. She said, “I won’t deny or confirm anything. But when the time is right I will openly speak about it. One can’t hide such things. So when I want to reveal it, I will do it publicly.” We are taking the hint.
The couple didn’t want to embrace parenthood during the pandemic

Previously, while hosting the Dance Deewane show, the comedian broke down on the stage after watching a performance of a mother who lost her newborn baby to coronavirus.
Stressing on why she doesn’t intend to embrace motherhood during the pandemic, Singh had said, “We are planning a baby but after hearing about such cases, we don’t feel like starting a family. We are deliberately not talking about having a baby because I don’t want to cry like this. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, I don’t wish to take any chances. I can’t plan a baby in such tension. I want my baby to come into a healthy environment. Right now, it is risky to even visit a hospital and once you get pregnant, you have to visit a doctor for regular check-ups. Might as well wait for another year than putting a small baby’s life at risk.”
Even though many celebrities like Anushka Sharma, Neha Dhupia, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Dia Mirza, Anita Hassanandani and others have welcomed babies during the COVID-19 pandemic, the fear is legit. Embracing motherhood in these circumstances involves many risks, and calls for a whole another set of precautions to keep the baby and mother safe.
We wish the couple a very happy and safe pregnancy!
