We loved Aditya and Geet’s love story—they were young, confused and in-love. Of course, it didn’t harm anyone that Aditya was a multi-millionaire and Geet’s house was a palatial haveli. However, cut to post-pandemic 2021 and it’s a whole new world. How would these two prem-ke-pujaris be able to adapt to the 2021 lifestyle? We tried to find out…
1. It would be their 14th wedding anniversary
If you don’t already feel old, this will definitely make you feel it–Geet and Aditya feel in love on screen 14 years ago and, this year, they’d complete 14 years of marriage. Let’s throw in a few kids into this equation and we have a whole family of confused people figuring themselves out. In case everyone forgot, they did show the duo having two daughters in the movie.
2. They’d be confused AF, still!
Both Geet and Aditya were confused about life and it’s many decisions and we’re sure the genes carried forward. First Adi didn’t know he loved Geet and then Geet figured that her jerk of a lover was not worth it. She left home because she didn’t want to face any of the guilt of returning, she also was fully convinced that she loved Anshuman (AKA jerk boyfriend). It all led to some extra dramatic steps on Geet’s behalf where she distanced herself from everyone she knew. Knowing both Geet and Aditya were a bunch of confused, conflicted souls, we’re imagining their life to be filled with adorable, melodramatic and extremely confusing instances.
3. They’d be pretty financially stable
If Aditya’s calling card scheme worked and he made new changes in his company like they showed him doing, we’re very sure the duo would be swimming in money by this point. Plus there is Geet’s jaddi money for rainy days. By god Babbaji, itna dekh lena!
4. Geet would be a horrible fight-ender
Imagine you have an intense fall out with your husband but instead of dealing with it head-on, you take a 10-month long gap to make another life for yourself in Shimla. That’s just the worst way to deal with conflict. Similarly, Aditya immersed himself in work and walked away from the love of his life, without even putting up a fight. We imagine these two taking long-haul vacations every time they have a fight. And when we say they create distance between themselves, we mean Kashmir to Kanyakumari level distance.
5. They’d be taking trains for every vacation
Yeh toh pakki baat hai! Is there any other way to travel?
6. One thing is for sure, they wouldn’t stay at ‘decent’ hotels
Considering both Geet and Aditya came from privileged backgrounds and assuming Adi is a smart businessman who doubled his money (inflation and all taken into account), we’re pretty sure they’d avoid any hotel called ‘decent’ with ‘hourly’ rates. No harm in finding a cheap hotel for a quickie, really (we don’t judge), but considering Geet’s guffaw at Hotel Decent in the film, we’re assuming they are not going to go back there any time soon.
