Kareena Kapoor Khan or Saif Ali Khan—who’s stricter? This is probably one of the many things that has all Taimur Ali Khan fans curious. While the actors might seem to be the coolest parents, Kareena spills the beans on how it is in reality.

Kareena on how Saif spoils Taimur

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, the actress revealed how Saif spoils Tim and that’s one thing she absolutely doesn’t approve of

Talking about how it annoys her, she said, “I am not very strict. I think I am quite relaxed and chill. I have to inculcate discipline a little more as Saif spoils Taimur so much that it annoys me sometimes. And during the lockdown, our schedules went haywire. So, Saif would want to watch a movie with Taimur at 10 pm, and I would have to step in and say no because it is his bedtime.”

“Now with two children, it has certainly become a bit more difficult, but I have to be particular about things like meals and bedtime. With Saif being so relaxed, I have to be a little tougher as I feel children need to grow up with some sense of discipline,” she added.

Previously, Kareena had spoken about how finicky she is about Taimur’s bedtime. In conversation with Mansi Zaveri on an episode of the podcast Raising Parents, she said, “I think that is something I’m not ready to push as much. I get annoyed because Saif sometimes, with the lockdown, he’s like ‘No, no, let him stay up, let’s watch a movie. Let’s watch Avengers, now they’re going through that phase or let’s watch an action film, and I’m like, ‘No, no, no, he has school tomorrow and it’s online’. And I hope, now with Jeh, I’m going to try and control that. I want the kids to get like 12 hours of sleep.”

Saif’s leniency stems from the guilt of not being able to spend time with his kids. He said, “When I come home after work and find Taimur sleeping, I feel bad. We shoot long hours, but if I haven’t packed up even after 8 pm, I feel uncomfortable because it means taking away time from my son.”

However, Saif isn’t an irresponsible father as he believes, “Being a parent is such an important role. If not done properly it can really damage the kids and if done right, it can be so rewarding.” This is surely relatable to all modern-age parents struggling to strike a balance between their personal and professional lives. In the end, it’s all about inculcating the right values and creating a healthy environment for your child’s development without compromising on their routine.
