Here’s Why I Believe Love At First Sight Is Flawed And Doesn’t Actually Exist

Do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk by again? This has to be the most annoying statement of all time. Love at first sight doesn’t exist. It’s about time we talk real and accept how it’s just about instant physical attraction. Love takes time to process and so do emotions. How about we rephrase it by saying–lust at first sight! You may hate me for putting this straight, but it is what it is. Here’s why I feel love, at first sight, is not just a myth but totally flawed.

1. First sight is never enough

Because you need to know a person inside and out to fall in love with them. More importantly, to choose to be with and spend your entire life with. And for that, one flash or one sight is never enough. At times, it takes years to know a person, and at other times it takes a couple of days or months. But definitely, not the first sight.

2. It’s lust at first sight

It’s lust. Let’s be honest. The sooner you admit it the better it is. You look at someone and find that person attractive physically. You are drawn to their good looks. In some cases, maybe their gestures or the way they behave and that dictates your testosterone and estrogen.

3. It fades away with time

It is an initial attraction and it does fade away after a point. In most cases, when you start interacting more frequently with that person and get to know them better. There are habits that will annoy you. You will discover things about them you definitely couldn’t at first sight. That’s when reality sets in. And boy, it hits really hard. The worst part? You can’t ignore it!

4. Love is beyond physical attraction

Need we say more? Love is all about accepting each other beyond physical appearances and more about raw emotions which don’t happen at first sight. It slowly develops over time. So much so, that you keep falling for the same person again and again. Also, with time, your approach towards life and love changes too.

So basically, the concept of love at first sight is not old-fashioned. It’s flawed.
