2021 saw a plethora of big celeb weddings take place, and one of the Bollywood couples to make it official were Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa who tied the knot in December. The couple dated for 11 years before getting married and their love shines through.
Of course, Rajkummar Rao has always been all hearts about Patralekhaa. They’ve been married for about two months now, and in a recent interview, the Hum Do Humare Do actor got candid about married life and everything that’s changed for them.

“We are just the way we were”
When asked about how marriage has changed the two, he said that they were still the same old lovebirds. They have had to jump into work pretty soon after marriage, but that hasn’t changed the way they interact with each other.
“We are just the way we were. We talk to each other a lot throughout the day if we are out on our respective shoots. And we talk at length!” said the actor, adding, “Thanks to technology, we connect over video calls. People often say that after 11 years of being together, the desire to talk is not the same as it is in the first or second year of a relationship. With us, it’s the opposite.”

On feeling “more complete”
Even though matrimony might not have changed their daily rituals and adorable phone calls, it still changes people in small ways. The Rao household is no different. The love blossoms but they have noticed some happy changes.
Talking about the ‘post-marriage’ life, Rajkummar stated, “Something changes on a subconscious level. I feel more complete now. We are still getting used to the idea of being husband and wife. I love calling her wife now…”

Love is in the air
While the actors feel more than perfect as a pair, their love is still growing. In most of his interviews, even before tying the knot, Rajkummar Rao was full of love. He is, if possible, more gushy about his new wife now.
“It’s a beautiful feeling. I am so elated to be married to Patralekhaa. She is my best friend, the love of my life, my family and my everything,” said the actor in the interview. Top that, you guys!

The actor will be seen next in Badhaai Do along with Bhumi Pednekar. Slated to release on February 11, the movie is about a lavender marriage and promises to be sensitive towards LGBTQIA+ issues.
