The Dangal actor, Fatima Sana Shaikh is in no mood to get married or ‘settle down’. The actress herself has openly admitted to it. In a recent interview with Times Now Digital, she shared her views and stated her reasons for not believing in the institution of marriage.
Sharing her take on marriage, she said, “Koi take nahi hai mera. Main abhi bhi bacchi hoon, mujhe jeene do (sic).” When asked further if she will ever get married, she said, “Kabhi nahi. Never. No, no I don’t believe in any marriage. I believe that if you want to be with somebody, you do not really have to make it pakka on a document. Just because it is documented doesn’t mean that you are actually in love with that person. For me, I am pretty open-minded in that sense (sic).”
For the uninitiated, Fatima’s parents had an interfaith marriage, where her mom is a Muslim, and her dad is a Hindu. Talking about how she was raised in a healthy environment where nobody ever mentioned religion, she told The Quint, “When I was growing up no one asked each other’s religion, caste, class, etc. I didn’t know it was important until now when we see these getting in the way all the time. I feel people have a lot of free time to talk about all this. My mom is a Muslim, my dad is a Hindu, and my brother and I are agnostic. I believe in karma (sic).”
Fatima has never spoken about her personal life in public and loves to keep it that way. On the professional front, she’s all set to be seen in Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, a film that stars Manoj Bajpayee and Diljit Dosanjh. Apart from this, she will also feature in Anurag Basu’s multi-starrer film, Ludo which will release on Netflix soon.
