If you’re a Dipika Kakar fan and follow her on Instagram, you are most likely aware of the low-key life she loves to lead. She prefers to stay home, away from the limelight, and spend as much time with her husband Shoaib Ibrahim and family as possible. In fact, even for her wedding, the Sasural Simar Ka actress chose Maudaha, a small town in Uttar Pradesh over a luxurious destination wedding.

The duo has been married for two years now and is considered to be one of the most ideal TV couples who never fail to charm their fans with their simplicity.

Dipika gets real on embracing Islam

Dipika’s decision to change her name to Faiza after marrying Shoaib raised many eyebrows. In one of her previous interviews with ETimes, she said, “It’s true I have done it, but why and when I have done it, don’t think it needs to be talked about. I think it is a very personal matter and I don’t think I need to talk about it openly in front of the media. For the audience and media, we as actors have always shared everything. All our happy moments we have shared with you all, but this, I think is a very personal space and I don’t give anyone the permission to invade that space (sic).”

Elaborating on her decision to embrace Islam, Dipika said, “Definitely, it is true and I am not denying it. I am in a very happy space and proud that I have done it for myself and my happiness. My family was with me in this decision and my intentions are not to hurt anyone. This is my decision (sic).”

Dipika says living with in-laws strengthens her bond with Shoaib

While most prefer not to stay with their in-laws, the Kahan Hum Kahan Tum actress thinks otherwise. Dipika feels that family plays an important role in building relationships. The actor, who lives with her in-laws in Mumbai, said, “My mother-in-law and sister-in-law, Saba, are very supportive. Ammi takes Shoaib’s class as to why he is angry with me and likewise, she makes me understand if I go wrong anywhere. I think because we all live together, the family helps in strengthening our relationship.”

Dipika also stressed how their simple lifestyle helps her to stay grounded, “People do want to live alone, it’s their opinion but I feel living in the same house with everyone around really matters for the relationship to improve. Secondly, our lifestyle also plays an important role. We don’t get carried away by glamour. We love our simple lifestyle. Also, we’ve given a lot of time to our relationship (sic)”.
