The latest celebrity to face the barb and snide remarks for being a working mom is television actress Chhavi Mittal. The Shitty Ideas Trending actress recently got trolled for leaving her kids with her domestic help, while she was busy creating content and videos for her social media.

Chhavi who actively keeps sharing her workout videos on Instagram came across one of the comments which read, “Where are you kids when you are making this video? Yeah, maybe with the servants !! Ms So not superwoman #pretentious.” The actress took a screenshot of the comment and shared it on Instagram, raising concerns over undermining and judging working moms.

Responding to the comment, the Bandini actress wrote, “This question came on ’14 day detox diet’ video. Here’s my reply: I shot this video at 11 pm in the night, after finishing all my office work, domestic work and after putting both kids to bed, when I got my ‘me’ time. It took me 15 minutes to shoot because I didn’t memorize or prepare anything, I just spoke from my heart. That was your answer (sic).”
However, the worst part of the comment was to see a woman putting another mom down. Stressing that, Chhavi further wrote, “But the reason to put this comment out here is to ask a question of my own. When will mothers stop putting other mothers down? When will we stop undermining and ‘judging’ working mothers? (sic).”

Chhavi is a mother to two adorable kids, a son named Arham and a daughter named Areeza. Unfortunately, she isn’t the first celebrity or working mom who’s been subjected to trolls; this has become a norm. Our society is filled with regressive ideas that believe women are the sole caregivers and belong to just that. They are accused of not being ideal mothers and setting wrong examples for their kids.

“For all mothers who are asked such questions implying, ‘just because you are working you are jeopardizing your child’s future’, remember, you are doing your best. You are teaching your little girl the importance of being independent, and you are teaching your little boy the importance of women’s independence. And for mothers who are trying to do something of their own while being at home, ditch the guilt, embrace your strength (sic),” she signs off.
The fact that nobody questions the men for leaving their kids behind while they are at work says a lot about gender stereotyping and the misogyny that’s latent in our society.
