The lockdown has been pretty rough on many relationships, and on those who have been stuck away from their boyfriends or partners. However, for one Surat teen, he didn’t let the lockdown hamper him from staying away from his girlfriend. He decided to dress up as a woman to meet her.
The 19-year-old from Pardi, Valsad was caught by the police after they found him driving suspiciously and could not answer their questions properly. At around 2:40 am, the cops saw a ‘woman’ who was wearing a kurta and had a dupatta wrapped around her face, drive by on a scooter. At first they did not think any of it, though when the ‘woman’ passed by again, they grew suspicious and decided to question her and ask what she was doing riding all by herself so late into the night.
When the ‘woman’ couldn’t communicate clearly, and relied on hand gestures, the police grew even more suspicious, and asked the ‘woman’ to remove her dupatta.
“His face was also covered with a mask and dupatta. He was wearing a proper Punjabi dress and it was difficult to find out that it was actually a man wearing a woman’s clothes. He was wearing pants and t-shirt under woman’s clothes,” revealed Pardi police officials to The Times Of India.
The boy was taken for questioning where he revealed that he had dressed up as a woman to avoid scrutiny from the police as well as the girl’s parents.
The teen has been booked Indian Penal Code for violation of order issued under public notification, negligent act that can spread the disease, Epidemic Diseases Act and Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The incident might be hilarious and straight out of Bollywood, but there’s no denying that this is extremely dangerous to do during a pandemic and he was putting many lives at risk.
