A wedding doesn’t happen until all the ceremonies have concluded.
From what looks like a scene right out of a movie, a bride in Telangana left her wedding guests shook by taking an unforeseen step. The mandap was set, guests had eaten their snacks and the bride and groom were dressed in their finest attire. However, one thing wasn’t ready–the bride’s conviction. The bride stopped her wedding rituals saying she did not want to get married.

The incident took place in Cherlapally village of Wanaparthy district in Telangana on Friday morning when the rituals were underway. As dramatic as it may sound, just before the groom was about to tie the mangalsutra, the bride took everyone around them by surprise and announced that she did not want to get married.
The bride’s family blamed her rash decision on the presence of her ex-boyfriend at the wedding. If we have learnt anything from the endless Indian serials and, both, Hollywood and Bollywood films–people will get manipulated into questioning their decision to move on and get married if exés show up at the wedding! Looking at you Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

The relatives of the bride even tried to convince her to not take such a drastic step without thinking of the consequences, but to no avail after which she walked out of the hall.
“We tried to catch him, but couldn’t,” said one of the guests at the marriage.

This is not the first bizarre story that came out of an Indian wedding. The year 2020 started with a WTF news where a soon-to-be groom’s father and his bride’s mother eloped just two-weeks before their children’s wedding. The couple did return though, but news is in that the middle-aged couple eloped again.
If this wasn’t crazy enough, an Uttar Pradesh bride called off her wedding when her soon-to-groom broke into an over-enthusiastic naagin dance (snake dance). Something definitely no one saw coming.
Then, in more bizarre news coming in from Madhya Pradesh, a man married two sisters in the same mandap. The groom was married to his wife for nine years and also has three kids. However he married his sister-in-law on his wife’s insistence since she wasn’t keeping well and wanted someone to take care of her children. This is when the husband confessed to his wife that he has feelings for her real sister and the three exchanged garlands, like it’s no big deal!
