Speaking in Hindi at the event, the 28-year-old reality star said, “Attachment hurts but love is pure. You don’t cry when you love someone. Whatever relationships you have with your brother, husband, etc. are temporary and will remain here only.”
Visibly emotional when talking about it all, the actress also took a moment to calm herself. Her words were met with applause.
Shehnaaz had shared her mental state after Sidharth Shukla’s demise
Her statement comes months after the demise of actor Sidharth Shukla, who passed away due to cardiac arrest. While the two never spoke openly about their relationship, several fans of the duo shipped them and dubbed the popular Bigg Boss duo as ‘SidNaaz’.
Earlier too, Shehnaaz had spoken about how she had “lost the will to live”, discussing how her mental health took a hit post Sidharth’s untimely death.
She’d said at the time, “Kayi log sochte hain, nahi ab nahi mujhe rehna. Ab to main marr hi jau to accha hai, logon ki wording hai ye. Matlab meri bhi thi ki humein to ab nahi rehna chahiye, humein to aisa karna chahiye. Ab main kya karungi (A lot of people think that now I do not want to live. It’s better if I die now, that’s how their thought process is. Mine was similar, that I shouldn’t be. What will I do now).”
Shehnaaz also discussed the empowerment of girl children

At the same event in Gurugram, the actress spoke about gender equality and empowering girls, saying, “I want to say that stop making girls feel small. I am also a girl. It shouldn’t be that brothers should walk ahead of their sisters. If the brother will go, then the sister will go. Girls should not feel scared. Boys and girls shouldn’t be differentiated…”
Shehnaaz has starred in a number of music videos which became hugely popular. After taking a break from work post Sidharth Shukla’s death, she was seen in a Punjabi-language film, titled Honsla Rakh, alongside Diljit Dosanjh. She is reportedly going to make her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan’s upcoming Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali.
