Girls, back me up here, most of us have had our fair share of experiences with public restrooms that were unbearably stinky, dirty and unhygienic. Having endured it all, we know the sinking feeling, from dysfunctional flushes to the absence of handwash.
Growing up, I’ve always seen my mom resorting to extreme measures to avoid this dreadful situation. And learning from the best, I, too, developed my own set of defences, from stuffing my bag with sanitary products to skipping meals and beverages to avoid the urge to use a washroom on the go.
