Ignorance is bliss–but not when it comes to your health and fitness. Amidst the daily hassles of life, we often tend to ignore fitness and later bear the brunt. Especially, when hitting the gym seems like too much of an effort.
Well, you aren’t the only one to feel lazy when it comes to working out and exercising. We all are! Hence, to motivate you to get your daily dose of fitness, here are a few fitness influencers on Instagram that you need to follow ASAP!
1. Alex Silver-Fagan
Alex is a certified fitness trainer based out of New York City, and specialises in yoga and functional training. You don’t need to hit the gym for yoga–it’s the simplest form of exercise that you can easily do at home. Her mantra for fitness lies in the belief that you need to be present, in whatever you’re doing to truly grow. Rushing won’t get you anywhere.
Start to weave focus (and trust) into all of your practices (on and off the mat, in and out of the gym) and we promise you’ll feel stronger and softer in every sense. Her brand of yoga involves moving gently, breathing, crying, and letting all your emotions flow.
2. Laura Large
Another yoga expert, Laura Large, specialises in ashtanga yoga. In fact, she brings in so many variations in the asanas like virabhadrasana (warrior pose) with a reverse warrior variation. She also introduced the world to a chilled-out crossed leg variation to dhanurasana. She believes yoga is an art, and not just about strength or flexibility. There are plenty of variations that you’d get to see on a daily basis making it simpler and doable for you. She says: “It’s about flexibility in strength, and strength in flexibility. It’s about balance. It’s about adventure, exploration and peeling away the layers. It’s about discovering who we are. It’s so much more than a form of exercise.”
3. Morgan
Morgan makes headstands look so easy and effortless that for a moment there we forgot just how difficult doing one actually is. She focuses not only on maintaining physical balance but her mental balance too. Her exercises are more about achieving a healthy mindset and we are loving that.
4. Morit Summers
Morit’s fitness account is all about dead lifts, and she is an inspiration for all you lovely curvy ladies out there. The dedication she puts in is really applaud worthy. It helps to build core strength and sends out a strong message–dead lifts are not just for men.
5. Massy Arias
Massy makes her workout look so much fun by including some dance steps in between. We know after a point it gets really monotonous, so a little dance and drama will do no harm. She specialises in SMR (self-myofascial release), which is said to be the first thing you should do before any dynamic stretching or cardio. It improves blood flow in areas that aren’t getting as much blood to help reduce tension in muscles. According to Massy, it is especially helpful for those who are dealing with back pain or knee pain.
