Want to be a skinny bitch? No, we don’t mean to call you names; we’re referring to the invitation-only fitness trend for celebrities and models that’s sweeping the world. Founded by Russell Bateman, this London-based fitness studio has a pretty intensive workout routine that we’re weirdly fascinated by (and not in a particularly positive way). Words like ‘skinny’ and ‘bitch’ aren’t really inviting. The name, actually, was a joke between Russell and his friends who would tease him for training only “skinny bitches”. But of course. Currently, SBC has over 100K followers on Instagram and a massive waitlist of SB’s vying to part of a class, which by the way, rings in at approximately Rs 3000 (US$45) per session.
Russell’s routines are incredibly physical and each workout really challenges the body to give extreme results. Most fitness centres do not encourage ‘touching’ your co-gymmer, but at SBC, you might just have to hold hands with another person or carry her on your shoulder for a specific workout. We’re not sure mere mortals like us would be happy to cough up that kind of money to be tortured into becoming skinny bitches?
According to online reviews, this is one of the toughest workouts ever which leaves one with bruises and aches. The results of the course are for sure impressive and that’s why models like Daisy Lowe and Suki Waterhouse and singer Ellie Goulding are hooked. But seriously, does it even make sense for people like you and me who are only looking to be healthy and happy and not skinny or bitchy?
