Last week, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said Coronavirus did not yet warrant the emergency declaration. However, it has now been declared a public health emergency of international concern. Post the red flag alert around this matter, Sunny Leone was caught on camera, as she refused to take a selfie with a fan with her mask off.

Sunny poses for selfie with mask

Sunny Leone and her hubby Daniel Weber were spotted at Mumbai airport on Wednesday. The couple were both covering their noses and mouths with masks, in attempt to steer clear from catching the Coronavirus. During this time, the actress was approached for a selfie, and was caught on tape as she initially refused.

From what we can see in the clip, Sunny and Daniel step out of the car and walk towards the entrance, which is when fans approach her for the picture. Sunny is then seen gesturing ‘no’ to them, but as they keep pursuing her, she stops and gives in. What’s making news though, is that she puts on her mask for the snap, making quite the statement.

Later, the 38-year-old took to Instagram to post a picture of Daniel and herself, again — wearing their masks. She captioned it: “Safe is the new COOL with @dirrty99 !! Don’t be ignorant about what is happening around you or think the Coronavirus can’t affect you! Be smart and be safe! “

After Sunny sent out a hard hitting message, Ranbir Kapoor too, was papped outside the airport, sporting a mask. Time for India to take a cue from B-Town, it seems!

 What is coronavirus?

For those who aren’t yet aware of what the Coronavirus is, it’s a  never-before-seen virus which was first detected in the Chinese city of Wuhan. It claimed over 200 lives and infected almost 10,000 Chinese citizens with a pneumonia-like illness, according to the country’s National Health Commission.

The virus, known as 2019-nCoV, was first reported to WHO a while ago, at the end of December 2019. Chinese scientists have linked the disease to a family of viruses known as coronaviruses, which include the deadly SARS and Middle East respiratory syndrome.

Update on the coronavirus in India

Only recently, a patient in Kerala’s Thrissur district was tested positive for novel Coronavirus and has been kept in isolation at a hospital. Though stable, he is still under close observation.

The situation that’s not short of being called an epidemic, has urged the Indian Army to create a facility near Manesar, Haryana, to quarantine approximately 300 Indians who will be arriving from Wuhan amid the outbreak. At the facility, Indians can be monitored for a duration of weeks by a qualified team of doctors and staff members.

 Symptoms of coronavirus

According to the NHS and the WHO, symptoms of Coronavirus usually include feelings of tiredness, difficulty in breathing, high temperature and a cough or sore throat. These symptoms are similar to other respiratory diseases, including flu and the common cold. So if you have symptoms consider asking yourself these two important questions — Have you travelled in the last two weeks to a high risk area? Have you been in contact with someone who has?

As Sunny rightfully said, safe is definitely the new cool!
