Starting To Fall Sick? We Know Exactly How You Feel, As Illustrated By These Gifs

Everyone hates falling sick, because obviously, it really frickin’ sucks. Randomly waking up with a sore throat, which then develops into a cold and subsequently fever in the middle of the week is a fate we only wish on our most hated enemies (okay, not really). We obviously have very strong feelings about this uncontrollable and fairly basic viral illness, which everyone seems to attribute to “weather change”. (Seriously, it’s not just the weather guys, it’s the air we breathe.) Here are some gifs that perfectly represent our feelings during this horrible time. Because gifs (or the people who make them, actually) always understand our feels.

The first stages of a sore throat are starting to appear, but you have a cup of tea and brush it off as nothing. Basically, you’re being an ostrich and shoving your head in the sand.

Pretty soon, you start getting those sneaky little sniffles, and although you know this could be the start of something, you’re still in denial.

But then, it starts to get pretty intense and you have to break out your trusty packet of tissues. Still in denial, though.

You run out of tissues, and that’s when you know shit is starting to get real.

As you start to accept the sickness that is befalling you, the evil cold starts freezing you into submission. You walk around clothed like you’re preparing to go beyond the Wall in the Game of Thrones.

Then, the body ache starts to set in.

And finally, you resign to your fate as a blob of snot and other horrible bodily fluids for the next couple of days. Then, you have to call your boss and convince them you’re actually sick.

There is a silver lining though (sort of), at least you’ll have someone taking care of you that whole time. And you can take those cough medicines that lull you into feeling like a freaking unicorn prancing around on a cloud of candy floss. (Corex Original [and not the non-drowsy formula], we love you.)
