Namrata Purohit is an award-winning fitness instructor, who, at 16, became the youngest Stott pilates instructor in the world. Her Mumbai-based venture, The Pilate Studio, is one of the first fitness studios to offer pilates and Simulated Altitude Training under one roof. It’s probably a little difficult to imagine, but this young girl trains an enviable list of celebrities like Jacqueline Fernandez, Elli Avram, Lisa Haydon, Arjun Kapoor, Manasi Scott, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Chitrangada Singh, Malaika Arora Khan, Esha Gupta, Nargis Fakhri, Shraddha Kapoor and many more. Recently, she also featured in Nike’s campaign, Da Da Ding, along with Deepika Padukone. Curious about what this supergirl eats to keep fit all day long? Here’s what Namrata’s daily meal schedule looks like.

Breakfast

“I am an early riser and I am usually up by 6 AM. I either try to go for a jog or horse riding in the morning. As soon as I wake up, I have two glasses of lukewarm water, and about 10-15 minutes later, I have a bowl of oats. After my horse riding or jogging time, I have coconut water, as it’s refreshing and filling, followed by a handful of dry fruits,” says Namrata, who believes in the back-to-basics approach for exercise and nutrition.

Mid-Morning

Namrata is at her studio from 8 AM till about 3-4 PM. So her 10 AM mid-morning snack is either seasonal fruit or a glass of vegetable juice.

Lunch

“At around 1 PM, if I can, then I go home and have lunch with my mom or if I am at the studio I eat lunch with dad. My mom is the boss here and I eat what she makes or sends us,” shares Namrata. Being a vegetarian, Namrata’s lunch is usually a simple meal of sabzi, dal, roti and chaas. “I enjoy my fruits and vegetables, and I love curd,” she adds. Namrata tries to include different vegetables and different kinds of dal in her meal everyday and makes it a point to eat every two hours, so that she is never hungry and never bored of eating the same food.

“Sometimes I work out during this time of the day, so I usually drink green tea by 3-3:30 PM and begin my workout at 4 PM,” she tells us. If she skips her coconut water in the morning or chaas during lunch then that’s what she has for her late afternoon snack.

Evening Snack:

“Between 5:30 – 6 PM I have either a small bowl of chana salad or some other protein-rich salad.”

Dinner:

“I love soup, so dinner usually begins with a nice, warm bowl of soup. Sometimes I have sautéed vegetables, a light salad or one roti with some sabzi.”

Weekly Indulgences:

“I am extremely lucky as I do not crave sweet dishes and so I can easily avoid desserts and chocolates. What I do enjoy is a cheat meal once a week, where I indulge in pasta or a slice or two of pizza, because that is my weakness, but I make sure to keep a check,” says Namrata.
