The saying ‘Why should men have all the fun’ just got a whole new meaning. After a long wait, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have approved the world’s first ‘Female Viagra’. This could help millions of women all around the world suffering from low sexual desire.

The libido pill named Addiya, won a regulatory approval earlier this week, after a lobbying campaign accused the Food and Drug Administration of gender bias for ignoring the sexual needs of women. Given the many options available to men in regards to such pills, the female Viagra is clearly long overdue.

Women distressed with their low libido or suffering from HSDD (hypoactive sexual desire disorder) will finally have an approved treatment option. However, there have been critics who worry about the many side effects associated to it. Nevertheless, the FDA has deemed it fit for consumption with professional guidance from healthcare personnel.

Sprout Pharmaceuticals, who are in charge of the production of this drug, are expecting it to have it ready for prescription by mid-October, this year.
