“For me, Pilates and my fitness journey in totality became the channel for me to fall head over heels in love with not only my body but every aspect of my being. Whether it was my work or my relationships, just by focusing on the well being of my body I have managed to bring about positive changes in all spheres of my life.
Stop idolising a particular body type

Our bodies are incredible. They do amazing things everyday, they keep us alive even when we’re asleep. The least we can do for our body is to feed it well, train it well and rest it well. Very often, I’ve seen or heard people wanting to look like somebody else.
The unfortunate—or, I would say, the rather fortunate—truth is, we can’t and we shouldn’t, we’re all beautiful in our own way. And it’s something we must be proud of. We can be the best versions of ourselves and that’s what we should strive for. Having said that, no matter what stage of your fitness journey you’re in, appreciate everything your body can do, love it for what it is and thank it for being there for you.

We spend too much time idolising a certain body type. Bookmarking pages and pasting posters of people we want to look like rather than concentrating on our own health. Getting motivated by someone’s fitness goals is a completely different thing from hating your own body for not looking like what society deems ‘perfect’. All of us have unique bodies that need love and care. None of us has the same growth pattern and we shouldn’t, for we aren’t robots now, are we?
The ultimate mantra for being comfortable in your skin
A key point for becoming comfortable in your skin is to accept that you are beautiful the way you are. That no matter what others say, if your body is well-rested, if it lets you lead a healthy lifestyle, if it helps you enjoy this wonderful life, then you and your body are amazing!

Whenever we decide to embark on our fitness journey or whatever stage we are at, what should remain constant is the love and respect you should have for your body. Each day you put in the effort, however much that is, you give back to your body for helping you survive and you get better.
Self-love should be above all

You walk towards being the best version of yourself. And once this level of self-love is attained, there is no looking back. Confidence comes from body positivity and it’s high time we all endorse it wholeheartedly. Exercise isn’t the textbook-recommended method to lose weight. We should do it to become healthier versions of ourselves, and strive to live a life that is not just beautiful, but remarkably beautiful.”
