Cut down on carbs: Rice eaters, this one’s for you. If you want to be a hit at those Christmas parties, then you need to cut down on carbohydrates for the next 10 days. But going off them completely may not be the best idea as carbs are the main source of fuel for your body and brain. Consume them in moderation for maximum results.

Eat proteins: Saying goodbye to belly fat in 10 days may not be a daunting task if you substitute your grain intake with a protein-rich diet. You can choose from egg whites, fish, chicken, and even dairy products like skim milk and beans. Tip: Avoid rich curries, and bake/ steam your fish and meats instead.

Drink lots of water: Drink up gallons of water to not just shed those extra pounds, but also lose that ugly paunch. Water not only helps you stay hydrated, but also boosts your metabolism keeping your body flushed of toxins.

Don’t crash diet: Never ever go on a crash diet. To look sexy in that LBD, all you need to do is eat small meals at regular intervals. Crash dieting on Day 1 can often lead to binge eating on Day 2. What’s the point then?

Go for crunches: You don’t have to be a exercise fanatic or a gym regular to get rid of your paunch. You can do crunches sitting in the comfort of your home. Invest in an exercise mat and simply go for crunches that do not require too much supervision from a trainer. You can either choose bicycle crunches in which you paddle each of your legs in the air while you do the crunches or the regular one by putting your hands behind your head and then raising yourself up while putting pressure on your abdomen. Easy, eh!

De-stress: They say that the formula to staying fit and healthy is cutting the stress! It holds true in the case of losing belly fat too. Remember the fact that stress can lead to emotional eating, which can be a big hurdle in reaching your weight loss goals. De-stress by reading a book after a tiring day, or simply go for a walk with your dog. It helps.

Stay motivated: Every time you fail to resist the chocolate pastry, tell yourself that you have a big task at hand. Yes, to look sexy in that red hot dress this party season.
