Even those of us who are dedicated to fitness, and follow a regime to the tee, find it challenging to stick to our exercise routine when we’re too busy, or too stressed out. We know that exercise is a great antidote to stress, but recent research shows that moving your body in times of stress might actually act as a buffer from disease in the future. According to a study, taking a break from exercise during stressful times is actually a double whammy for the body. Stress creates havoc in the body, and lack of exercise only exacerbates it.

It is the cardio-respiratory system, that is, your heart and lungs that are affected the most. This can leave you vulnerable to respiratory problems, high blood pressure, and other cardiac troubles in the future.  Not just this, lack of exercise during stressful times also leaves you more susceptible to depression. Many professionals recommend exercise to combat depression and other mood disorders, which often get triggered by high stress. So, it makes sense that lack of activity can cause our mood to go haywire.

Granted, exercising is one of the toughest things to do when you’re down in the dumps. But, by all accounts, it is clear that it is the one thing that will actually make you feel better!
