Kareena Kapoor Khan has always spoken up about her love for food, especially since she’s a Kapoor and a Punjabi.  Her svelte figure is a result of doing 1000 surya namaskar, pilates and yoga. Bebo recently announced her pregnancy and her nutritionist Rujuta Divevwkar recently revealed what her diet plan is.

Instead of three heavy meals, Rujuta said that Kareena’s meals are actually broken down into smaller portions throughout the day.

Rujuta reveals that Kareena starts off her day with blanched almonds and bananas. Almonds are an excellent source of antioxidants, while bananas are rich in potassium.

After her workout, Kareena tucks into dahi rice, a South Indian staple that is loaded with probiotics. Alternatively, she eats paneer and dal with roti, that is a healthy mix of carbs and proteins.

Around 2-3pm, Kareena has a bowl of papaya which helps in digestion, cheese or a makhana which is a great low-calorie snack option.

To beat the evening slump, Kareena had either a  mango milkshake, a bowl of litchi fruit or peanuts.

Dinner is served at 8pm and includes veg pulao and raita, or Palak or pudina roti with boondi raita, or dal rice and sabzi.

Finally, before bed, Kareena has a grandma favourite; haldi doodh aka turmeric latte with a pinch of nutmeg that improves her immunity.

If you have been snacking on unhealthy junk food, Rujuta recommends having fresh fruit, curd with raisins or cashews, (this will make it more nutrient dense) Nimbu sharbat which is great to add electrolytes in your body, coconut water which aids in detox and chaas (buttermilk) which has hing (asafoetida) and black salt added to it for better absorption.

Kareena’s workout entails working out on the treadmill for 20 minutes, where she focuses on speed. On day two, she does yoga and takes a break on day three.

Day four includes a home strength training workout. Strength training helps strengthen the bones, boosts the mood and helps maintain your weight.

Day 5 involves Kareena doing 40 minutes on the treadmill keeping the speed steady.

Day 6: Kareena does restorative yoga postures or core workout.

Day 7:  All that workout certainly needs some rest!
