Are you one of those who constantly refers to cookbooks, even though they are on the brink of extinction? If you want to quit relying on your mom’s old, tattered, recipe book, flash forward to the 21st century with this brand new offering. Gujju Goes Gourmet is India’s first digital cookbook that features delicious, healthy vegetarian recipes that anyone can whip up – because they are that simple!

Sonal Ved, the founder of this cookbook, is a food writer and aficionado who has cooked, created and tried every recipe. “I was surprised by how people couldn’t see that vegetarain food could be exciting too. So I set about putting together dishes I ate on an everyday basis or while we entertained at home, and that led to Gujju Goes Gourmet,” says Sonal.

Her favourite recipe, btw, from the book is the deconstructed falafel, which comes with a healthy chickpea salad along with hummus and whole-wheat pita.

The USP

“I’ve put together a lot of flavours that wouldn’t ordinarily be paired, like beetroot and strawberries, peanut butter and celery, avocado and orange juice. The idea was to be exciting, not too boring or too daring, which is the case with a lot of online recipes. A lot of local vegetarian websites play it safe with tried and tested recipes and international cookbooks, though experimental, work with a lot of ingredients that aren’t easily available in India. So there was a need for something aspirational, yet not too outlandish. Gujju Goes Gourmet is just that” shares Sonal.
