Keep yourself glowing this party season with the right diet & workout.

It’s that time of the year again when food and wine flows as freely as the good cheer of the season! You need to look your best in your party outfits and yet all the tempting party food is bound to go to your waist. And so when it comes to your body, prevention is better than cure. Here is how you can come out of the party season without looking like you just exchanged places with Adnan Sami!

  1. Before you head out to a party, make sure you don’t get there in a famished state. As you get dressed, make sure you down a bowl of soup or salad. A small home-cooked meal is also a good idea. This will enable you to eat only that which you really like and save you tons of calories.
  2. Another great idea to help you stay lean and in control of your appetite is to down a protein shake before you head out. Protein has high satiety value and chances are you will only end up nibbling on the party fare.
  3. During the day, when you are in the office or working at home, it’s time to save on calories by consuming most of your food in the form of fruits and veggies. The extra fibre in addition will help flush out the system of toxins, keeping you glowing this party season.
  4. Never undervalue exercise in keeping you fit and trim. You need to fit in one hour of workout into your schedule at least. If you are used to exercise, this is the time to up your workout intensity. Enroll in personal training sessions, boot camp workouts or cardio kickboxing sessions.
  5. A great workout idea that could make you a star at parties is to join in some dance classes that enable you to shake a leg in style while you burn some serious calories. After all the party season is on till February!
  6. If alcohol is your choice of poison this party season and you don’t want to end up looking like a walrus the next day, drink plenty of water before, during and after a party and the next day. Alchohol dehydrates and can give you a puffy bloated look the next day in addition to a hangover. Drinking enough water will ensure you get neither.
  7. Lastly practice portion control. Eat the goodies you want but in moderation. For remember you will have to sweat off that additional layer of fat all by yourself. Having less fat to burn post party season will make you lest resentful of your partying, believe me.
