How often do you get headaches and experience muscle soreness? On a scale of one to 10, how would you rate the frequency? If it’s too frequent and you have been ignoring it, you aren’t doing your body any favours. I never thought much about my headache, and now I am bearing the consequences. I used to pop a pill, and once the pain went away I would forget all about it. This went on for months. Then months turned into years, and my nearest chemist became my general physician. I am pretty sure, there are plenty of women out there who do the same when they feel pain in their bones or muscles.

It’s time you stop playing doctor, though. Our bodies constantly send signals to convey to us that it’s not fine and needs proper care. So here are certain symptoms that you need to start paying heed to:

1. Constant dizziness

If you think it’s normal, you’re wrong. Dizziness can be caused due to multiple disorders; and no, being hungover isn’t one of them. A sudden fall in blood pressure or blood sugar levels can cause dizziness. Even dehydration can be a major cause for it.

2. Do you feel tired all the time?

If you feel tired after your eight hours of sleep, see a doctor ASAP. You need to get your blood pressure and vitamins levels checked immediately, because you must be doing something wrong that’s making you feel exhausted constantly.

3. Get headaches too often?

If your headache persists for a long time, head to a good doctor. Don’t ignore it and don’t abuse painkillers. Consult a good neurologist and get it checked out. Your brain is a complex creature on its own, so don’t complicate matters further.

4. Sore muscles

Experiencing muscle soreness after intense workouts is fine. But if the soreness and pain persists for days, then it’s a concern. That’s when you need to consult physiotherapist first; and if that also doesn’t cure it, see a specialist.

5. Get constant backaches?

Recurring backaches can be monstrous. It is perhaps the most annoying of all the symptoms, because it cripples your movement. You might think it’s due to stress or a bad sleeping position but actually backaches can be caused by a number of factors. Slip disc is one such cause. It may not feel serious, but ignoring it can have severe consequences. Our advice, get it checked before things take a turn for the worse.
