Skincare

How many of us really care for our skin while working out? Do you know that lack of hygiene while exercising can lead to clogged pores and bacterial infections? Not to mention the crash diets that make your skin more prone to acne and dryness. Every time I workout I love to see my skin glow. But, I’ve also noticed that workouts affect my skin. Here are few easy things you should know to avoid your skin from ruining while you workout:

Take a cold water shower post workout

Hot water certainly is great for clearing your skin, as it opens the closed pores. But you don’t want to end up with dry skin. So make sure you take a shower in the right temperature of hot and cold water, to prevent dry skin. Don’t forget to apply some moisturiser after your shower.

Sunscreen

Wear sunscreen when you workout outdoors, regardless of the season

It’s a myth that sunscreen should be used only in summer. The sun doesn’t disappear during winters. UV-rays can still harm your skin. Also, the warm sun and cold air can together leav you with a dry and cracked skin. Hence, never leave for your run without SPF.

Don’t forget to wash your face, as soon as you complete your workout

Sweat clogs your pores filling them with bacteria. So post workout wash your face! Especially if you are in the pool, at the gym, since the chlorine will dry out your skin.

Skincare

Clean your mobile with a disinfectant after you get back home

Most of us use our phone while working out, to track our workouts or listen to music. But when you do that, remember that your sweat is going to pass on to the phone, which leaves behind a lot of bacteria to ruin your skin, especially your cheeks and ears.

Say NO to makeup while working out

Okay I get that it’s important to look pretty and all that while you workout, especially if you have a crush on that hottie at the gym. But the price you pay for it is pretty bad! Make up tends to blend in with your sweat, which is so not good for your skin. It will lead to blackheads and other types of acne.
