5 Inspiring Women Are Opening Up To The World About Their Painful Skin Conditions

As women, one of the things that constantly bothers us is self-image. No matter how hard we try, we are always conscious of how we look, what we wear, our size, or even what we say or do. Because someone or the other out there is constantly judging us for all these reasons, and more. But women are getting braver, and are using social media to cultivate self-love, and to open up to the world in complete acceptance of themselves and it is empowering for the rest of us. We recently came across a group of women, suffering from different skin conditions, who are using Instagram to show the world the truth about issues like psoriasis and eczema, and are paving the path for people to be comfortable in their own skin, as well as giving them the courage to refrain from covering them up. We’re hoping that the examples of these amazing ladies make a difference in getting rid of horribly unfair judgemental attitudes.

Holly Dillon – Get Your Skin Out

I’m #getyourskinout on the Bakerloo line on the way to work. I went on a frantic shop yesterday trying to find more clothes that show my psoriasis especially on my legs they are being super stubborn right now and my psoriasis is not shifting. I find myself trying to wear something that’s respectable for work but that also allows me to #getyourskinout I’ve also started really trying to stick to materials like cotton and silk and avoid anything else that doesn’t let my skin breathe as it absolutely drives my psoriasis insane. Basically I’m trying to wear things that make me feel as if I have no clothes on, the maximum comfort! Im no fashion guru but I know what we wear totally effects how we feel about our skin. Be it covering it up or #getyourskinout our clothing can highlight or hide our psoriasis. Today I’m wearing skirt with a respectable slit up the side, great for lunchtime sunbathing and also hilarious for good old tube reactions. I’ve had a fun morning testing people reactions on the tube #getyourskinout people don’t know where to look the best of times on the tube so when I show my psoriasis it becomes even more awkward for them. Straight up entertainment for me in the mornings. Beat them to the chase and show your skin, be proud ! #psoriasis #psoriasisawareness #fashion
