I’ll admit that there have been multiple occasions when I’ve genuinely tried to skip those high-calorie foods only to give in to my cravings. Which means my ‘get fit’ resolution goes down the drain. And for a foodie like me, eating healthy takes double the effort. So I won’t judge you if you’ve gone through all these and many more horrifying things when you switched from being a foodie to eating healthy.
1. You begin to scrutinise everything. Healthy or not? Then you think, screw it, a girl’s got to eat, right?
2. Your options have suddenly diminished and it’s troublesome because you don’t want to pick any of your choices.
3. You even eat way less than usual because literally nothing suits your palate.
4. Liquids are your new go-to that help fill you up. But that’s got to be healthy too, so no sodas!
5. Starving. That’s your current state of mind.
6. You wake up to dreams of delicious food. But reality is harsh.
7. And the nightmares of a goeey molten chocolate lava just don’t stop haunting you.
8. You don’t enjoy the 3 a.m. snacks any more, obviously.
9. But the good thing is, you save a lot of money. Like a LOT!
10. You look forward to drinking water. Only.
11. Everything tempts you and it takes a whole lot of courage to keep yourself away from food.
12. Your co-workers make fun of the new healthy lunches and snacks you bring, and you have to fight the urge to punch them in the face.
13. Fruits are your new dessert and it’s not pleasing.
14. Your cravings keep increasing and not satisfying them doesn’t help at all.
15. But you keep telling yourself, ‘This too shall pass’ in the hope that you’ll get fitter and slimmer soon.
Well, we only hope that you don’t give up on your New Year resolution of fighting those cravings to lose all the flab. All the best to you.
